Given the sheer size of this site, what we achieved on a mid-range budget has added huge aesthetic value to the home. The finished product has a Hamptons feel about it, and has become a favourite heritage style project in our portfolio.
The key parts of this landscaping project were a large-scale pool renovation and outdoor restoration that included a fireplace, garden bed works and concreting.
Due to its large size, it took us almost two months to have the site pave ready, which included excavation, levelling and laying reinforced concrete slabs to prevent slumping or cracking. From here, we laid 1m by 500mm Australian grade bluestone pavers with 100mm drop down faces. Bluestone is our most popular paver thanks to its timeless bluish-grey tones, durability and high-end quality. This expanse of stone and repeated pattern throughout the paving is easily the show piece of this outdoor area.
Next we built the outdoor fireplace and cladded it with Eco Outdoors’ Howqua stone, which creates the perfect backdrop for al fresco dining under the covered area.
Rounded pots with soft green plants were dotted around to bring in some colour and break up the vast stretch of hard surface. We colour matched the pots to the paving to maintain a flow throughout the area and keep it looking tidy and elegant.
A two-metre ivy hedge closes off the pool area from the rest of the yard, keeping the driveway and sheds out of sight.
