The key to a show-stopping garden design is to create something unique; something that no one else has or could easily replicate. An easy way to do this is by taking features in the landscape that already exist, and build them into the design.
At this Point Lonsdale home, the Moonah trees that are native to that coastline have become the statement of the landscape. Night and day, their shape, colours, movement and shadows remain the focal point, as our clients go about their day nestled beneath them.
The soft landscaping took about two weeks to complete and included excavation works, mulch toppings, irrigation and planting. Keeping with the coastal theme of the Moonah trees, all other plants and ground coverings were kept native, coastal or indigenous. We used banksias, black boys, lomandra, poa poiformis and pig face ground cover in and around the Moonah trees. All areas have a covering of Dromana toppings which is a fine crushed rock, made from brown granite.
This project is a true reflection on a landscape design fitting in with the natural environment of the location. You barely notice the house when driving past due to the strategic landscape that has been added. This sophisticated outdoor area is now the perfect backdrop for this impressive architecturally designed home.
